Jeronimo Beta 0.17.0 (43)
A meetings round: where one meeting ends and the next begins, the end of a call, a speech recognizer choice for meetings, and the transcript's seams.
- One rule for where a meeting ends: a recording goes on for as long as the call app is on its call in the same calendar event, through the 15 second countdown. When a different calendar event begins while the call app is still on the microphone, the recording stops at that moment and the next call is its own meeting. A call that runs past its event with nothing after it stays one meeting.
- A meeting now ends when the call ended, not 15 seconds later: its end time and length are the moment the call app let go of the microphone, and the audio after that moment is cut before the transcript is written, so the transcript ends where the call did.
- Settings, Speech has two choices, one for dictation and one for meetings, each Automatic unless you change it. Automatic picks the recognizer this Mac is best served by. A choice you made yourself is kept.
- Transcribing waits while a recording runs and while the Mac is critically short of memory, and the Meetings list says in plain words what each meeting is doing: Transcribing, Waiting and why, Writing the summary.
- Meeting audio is no longer cut into fixed 30 second pieces: each piece now ends at the quietest moment near the 30 second mark, never through a word, so words at the seams are neither lost nor doubled. A piece that came back as a lone period is dropped.
- On a call taken on speakers, a line on your side that is really the other side coming through the microphone is removed more reliably, and when one line holds both their sentence and your answer, only their part is removed.
- Numbers in a meeting transcript read as numbers: 1,000,000 rather than 1000000, and 20.1 rather than 20.one.
macOS 26 support is still untested.
