Uninstall Jeronimo

The simple way is from the app: open Jeronimo, choose Settings, then Advanced, and click Uninstall Jeronimo…. It removes everything on this page and moves the app to the Trash.

If you already dragged Jeronimo to the Trash, the app is gone but what it stored is not. You can download Jeronimo again and use Uninstall Jeronimo…, or remove what is left by hand with the steps below.

1. Quit Jeronimo

If its icon is still in the menu bar, click it and choose Quit Jeronimo.

2. Delete its folders

In Finder, choose Go, then Go to Folder… (Shift-Command-G), paste one line at a time, and move what it finds to the Trash. Not every Mac has all of them.

Every one of these has Jeronimo’s identifier, app.jeronimo.Jeronimo, in its name. Nothing else on your Mac belongs to Jeronimo.

3. Switch off its permissions

Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and look for Jeronimo in each of these lists. Switch it off, or select it and click the minus button.

Or all at once, in Terminal: tccutil reset All app.jeronimo.Jeronimo

4. Open at Login

System Settings, General, Login Items & Extensions: if Jeronimo is under Open at Login, select it and click the minus button.

5. Notifications

System Settings, Notifications, Jeronimo: switch Allow Notifications off. macOS removes the entry by itself some time after the app is gone.

6. iCloud, only if you want it gone from every Mac

If you had iCloud sync on, your dictionary, snippets, settings, saved dictations, and meetings are also in your own iCloud account, and on your other Macs. Leave this step out to keep them there.

To delete them everywhere, use the app on any Mac that still has it: Settings, Advanced, Erase All Data and Settings…, Everywhere; or Uninstall Jeronimo… with This Mac and iCloud. Without the app: System Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage…, and if Jeronimo is listed, delete its data there.

7. The extension in Claude

If you added Jeronimo to Claude, remove it there: in Claude Desktop, open Settings, then Extensions, choose Jeronimo, and uninstall it. Jeronimo never touches another app’s files.

8. Empty the Trash

That is all of it.
